Sandokan the chef’s knife blade from Japan the handle, German craftsmanship
The Sandokan knife was created from the idea of combining eastern and western handicraft traditions in knife manufacture.
The blade is a Japanese hand-forged damascus blade with 160 layers. In Japan it is referred to as the Japanese master chef’s blade.
The knife steel is a wild damask with an excellent unique pattern. Carbon steel of 61+-1° HRC is inserted in the blade.
The hand-forged bolster is shaped in the typical Japanese oval shape with an edge. This geometry is reflected in the black water buffalo horn handle away.
The handle parts made of water buffalo horn are divided by a silver spacer. The castle enthroned on the horn handle is handcrafted in 925/000 sterling silver.
It is designed with many battlements and turrets. A green tourmaline in a cabochon cut completes the knife as a dome.
All knives from the TYPEMYKNIFE knife manufactory are exquisite individual pieces. They are manufactured in such a way that they can also withstand professional use in the kitchen over the long term.
Like all Japanese carbon steel, the blades are not rustproof and must be treated with special blade oils. We recommend Ballistol Oil.
It is tasteless and food safe. It does not gum up or go rancid like olive oil and other natural oils.
